ONLINE CLASS: Mindfulness & Meditation to Spark Creative Joy
Jaime Glasser
March 4 - March 18
$150Simple practices to quiet the mind and awaken inspired living
Il Chiostro’s Mindfulness & Meditation to Spark Creative Joy offers three mini, two-hour retreats on Zoom, each centered on a different theme. Every session illustrates how mindfulness can affirm creativity and provides practical tools to support greater joy and ease in writing, even on difficult days. Creatives of all kinds, working in any medium and at any level of experience, are welcome.
If you write, draw, paint, photograph, or create in any form, you will benefit from the mindfulness exercises and generative writing offered in each session. Optional sharing enhances both the individual experience and empathy for the shared challenges we face as creatives.
If you prefer to bring art materials instead of writing tools, please do. Markers, chalk, pen and ink, crayons, or any medium you enjoy are welcome. Each session will guide you in manifesting your own personal affirmations.
Classes include introductions, short grounding practices, guided meditations, gentle movement for all abilities, lessons on the session’s theme, prompts to explore your personal relationship to the topic, brief generative exercises, group discoveries, new tools to support the week’s writing or creative practice, and a closing guided meditation.
Spoiler alert! Despite popular misconceptions, there will be no requirement for long periods of sitting still or deep emotional excavation. Instead, we take a lighter approach, gently exploring creativity, meeting what holds us back without judgment, learning tools to send those inner “elves” packing, and rediscovering and appreciating our unique gifts. You will leave each session with a new tool to support ongoing creativity, wellbeing, and wonder.
Treat yourself as you would an honored guest: be hospitable, be comfortable, and enjoy.
If you are more comfortable working on the floor than at a table, have a mat available. Bring your favorite writing instruments, paper, notebook, or any art supplies that bring you delight. Have water, tea, or another beverage nearby. You are the honored guest.

A note from our Instructor:
If at any time you feel stressed or uncomfortable, gently look around you and notice this welcoming space. Take a few deep breaths, inhaling calm and comfort, and exhaling any unease.
We offer our warmest wishes that this time allows you to relax and reconnect with the joy of creating.
