In this session, we’ll take what appears to be a very complex subject and simplify it by focusing first on the large light and shadow shapes before deciding what level of detail we want to achieve. These are some David Austin Desdemona roses, from my own backyard garden. They have beautiful forms to paint, lots of petals (which can be a challenge to paint, but we’ll address how) and a heavenly scent!
